3 Spoke Sport Steering Wheel malady

Is there more than one "horn pad" made for these wheels? I have one of the wheels with the very thick 1/8" (not stamped/pressed) spoke assembly. Came with a pad but it sits down on the wheel on the posts so tightly that the horn is always engaged. As soon as it is placed on the steering shaft and pushed "home" and makes contact with "the contacts" on steering wheel assembly it lights off!
There is no movement once the pad is pushed onto the face of the wheel.

Makes me long for the '75 Carrera wheel I let go with a car years ago!

Thanks.

Are you missing the little springs that keep the pad off the hub?

Thinking same as Kurt. Those springs can pop off easily.

Thanks for the replies.

Slight alignment issue. Got it worked out and tested it tonight. Looked at 2 other identical wheels today (one was NOS). None took much movement of the pad before the contacts touched.
