I'm in the process of putting my engine back in the P-car. Mentioned it to the wife and she said to do the track.
So we need to ger other Atlanta pelicans together and set a date to do it. That would be awesome to be able to drive your own P-car on their track. Keep me posted of updates.

I have driven by several times and seen the cars going around the track. Is it possible to get our own car on the track??? It looks like all new sheet metal out there. I suspect you have to be a new car buyer to get out there? I wonder if the Hapeville cars and coffee will move over there?
OK read the article. Wow if I could get numerous sessions on track with a new GT3 for $300!!! I think that is a dream (not reality)...definitely worth checking out.

I drove over on Saturday just to take a look and the entrance has the security system of Fort Knox! When I pulled up to the guard house the security person (female dressed in a nice blazer and very polite) asked if she could help me and I asked if I could see the museum, perhaps the Porsche store or even the track. The response? "Sorry sir, but you will require an invitation, please go online to Porsche .com for more information". Okay. That night I went onto Porsche.com and had to peel through a few layers to find the Porsche Driving Experience. What I saw were several driving packages made available at the track. The cheapest was for $1800 for a day on the track starting with breakfast, class session, track time, hot laps, lunch, etc. It just got more expensive from there!
I do not believe its open for YOUR cars, only those operated by PCNA. I have to wonder as well if its even open to PCA members for the museum, restaurant or store. It is after all PCNA headquarters with a huge work force. If anyone knows anything else. please chime in. Was I missing something here? Bob 73.5T |

Bob,
Here is the site you were looking for. The site you visited the other day is for the sport driving school in Birmingham. https://www.porschedriving.com/experiences/driving-experiences Prices start at $300 for 1.5hrs. No, you cannot drive your car at this track. It is not a racetrack. It was not built for owners, it was built for customers.

The one in Carson California across from the Goodyear Blimp has most of the building up but they have not started on the "Track" ,
They did leave some dirt piles here and there months ago when they were grading the area , Hopefully they will have a few open houses or interesting displays. Anyone got an "in" to get me a ride on the blimp ![]()

$300 to drive a boxster or a Cayenne for 1.5 hrs....the GT3 well over $1K. Thats going to be out of my budget for a GT3 and not really worth it to me for a Boxster. Maybe they will have some club events at some point in the future.

The track at Carson (Porsche Experience Center) is about a mile from my office. I believe it will become the North American Motorsports location too.
I'm sure they planned to not make the track portion yet because of obvious problems with the general public sneaking on it at night. The building is coming along and will have everything from business offices, restaurant, gift shop, a training center, and lots of cars including Porsche historic race cars on display. Man, am I bummed. ; )

I know someone who has been in contact with PCNA to set up a visit for a "car club". He was told they will arrange something but their schedule is tight right now as expected. i'll post the invite if he is able to schedule something. I would image the local PCA chapter is trying to set up something also.
