How to obtain the original Porsche colors?

I'm looking to have my 1971 911T repainted next week, and I want to make sure, that the color it is painted, looks exactly as the original.

Is it possible to find the exact color somewhere, or what do I tell the painter?

The color I'm looking for is: "Burgundrot", which I think must be the one called "Burgundy Red" in the US.

Assuming you are in the US, you can always try calling PCNA. Or if you have an area that still has the original color, have it scanned by a high shop that can copy it.

have the shop paint a 3'x3' test panel (not your car) to see if it correct

Many paint suppliers have a formula for that color. Whoever your painter is, be sure to get a 'sprayout' and compare the color with any part of the car where the original color is visible. That can be the front latch panel, or under the threshold carpet, or maybe the c-pillar under the headliner. If your car has been color-changed, in some cases, that change has been done without prep and the new color can easily be scraped off.

Thank you .

I will give them the original code, and see with they can find the right mix, and ask them for a sample, before I have the entire car painted.

I can see that Glasurit have a formula, so hopefully they will be able to use that.
