I think Thom put cats on after a B&B muffler. Sort of like cat-tips. He didn't really need cats on a 77, but he was playing it safe. Thom was the earliest pioneer to run the California smog gauntlet that I am aware of. In fact, I'm not aware of anyone else with a smog certificate for a 3.6 transplant. Maybe Mikez will be next.

I had cat tips on the outlets of my old B&B muffler they worked great, but I doubt that your CARB wouldn't accept them in lieu of factory parts.

I like the diagram proposal that Moses posted, but at the same time wonder whether its doable in steel. This is interesting regardless, keep us posted Moses.
