Read this
http://www.herald.ns.ca/stories/2001/09/25/f201.raw.html It is ridiculous that they would even think of suspending him! I am here in Canada and I think it is stupid, if I was on leave I would have went too. Shawn |

Is Chief of Police an elected position?? Maybe he didn't plan on running again anyway.

This appears to me to be only tangentially related to the attack on the WTC, and has nothing whatsoever to do with Porsches.
I don't mean any disrespect to patriots, Canadians or dogs, but... there are so many forums for the discussion of this kind of topic on the web, why do guys keep bringing it here? ------------------ Jack Olsen My Rennlist page • My Pelican Gallery page • My Porsche Owners Gallery page |

Jack, not meaning to be disrespectful but here it goes.
I think the idea here is when a group of people with similar interests(like P cars) get together they can discuss P cars or whatever else they might have in common. I personally believe that there is alot more to life than my Porsches. We all have other interests and opinions and these forums allow us to express them. When I scan through other posts it appears that very few have only 100% technical information on porsches. These posts allow us to show our true feelings, humour, and individuallity. These pages would be pretty dry if all that was shared were clutch adjustment and tune up tips.I sit back at the computer with a drink in my hand and read the different posts. Its like listening to different conversations at a party. If I see a post that doesnt interest me, guess what, I dont read it. I dont post and say you guys are boring me, I just go to the next post.Last time I looked there was plenty of space on this website for opinions, maybe we should leave the moderating of these posts to wayne or the moderators. Just my opinion though... Gary ------------------ ghanlon |

Gentlemen. Respect to all points of view, but don't forget that Wayne created an OT Forum too. Yep, it's good to share opinions beyond Porsches, I agree. But if we're way OT there's a Forum for it.
Useful too, when in these challenged times, there's a lot more OT to talk. ------------------ '75 911S Targa '81 BMW Alpina C1 2.3 |

Hello
Didn´t the candians have a mountie in Chigago with a Husky, Horse and a Buick Skylark ? Oh thats fiction Well i think the problem is that they fear a police officer who "likes" to work and becomes "unleadable" or better said unprofessional. Grüsse, Roland |

I love this: "Suspension is not necessarily an indication that anybody has done anything wrong."
I can tell you that all New Yorkers, me included appreciate the efforts of people like Const. Symington. As for using this BB for OT postings, well, this is a thoughtful, educated group of people and I always enjoy what you all have to say on just about any subject. |

Ghanlon...
This is my daily driver (during the summer anyways). I actually work in the Park. So you may have seen it around. I have been looking for a late 80's 911 or S4 as a weekender vehicle, but as you know they are hard to find. Patiently waiting for one to pop up. I actually live in North Edmonton, so I have a nice drive...... down yellowhead... What are you driving around.... Alex ![]() [This message has been edited by ae1969 (edited 09-28-2001).] |

Don't you love the way a post takes on a life of its own?
Back to the post, let me make sure I understand. A policeman on leave, donates his own time to serve the people of NY. Someone off the clock doing their job. He was seen (exposed) on national by his supervisor. So I must gather those who were on the clock were watching TV. I think pwd72s summed it all up "No good deed goes unpunished..." |

There was a very similar thing happening in Ontario. A provincial police officer with his dog worked the WTC site many days. He was punished also. The reason ; his dog. The dog was not fully trained in rescuing, searching or whatever training these dogs get. The untrained dog probably kept another properly trained dog from being on site. There is always a chance the right dog might of found something this one did not.
Maybe this or another similar fact was left out of article. It was quit brief. ------------------ Joseph '86 T-look |

Yes iI think I have seen your car around. Nice looking ride! I now drive an 81 Red Turbo and a 64 Black 356SC. Up until a few weeks ago I had an 82 Platnium 928 as well but I had to make room for the SC so it was either the Fiancee or the 928 (a really hard decision but it had to be done). Drop me an emailwhen your in the area, Id love to see your car. Gary |
