14" wheel to fit my '73?

My current battery arrangement doesn't let my full size spare fit. I've been living with it, but I'm not completely comfortable without a spare. I think if I had a 14" wheel, the wheel/tire combo would fit. Has anyone ever seen a 14" wheel that fits the bolt pattern?
Ideally, it would be an inexpensive steel wheel.

There are 14" steel and Fuch wheels. Fuch 5.5x14 were optional as part of the "comfort package" on early 911's and an option on the 1976 912E. I tried putting a 14" Fuch in the 912E but it didn't fit with the 21 gallon fuel tank. I still have the rim if you want to try a test fit.
(if you're in my neck of the woods)

what size tire are you going to put on that 14" rim? usually the trade off with wheel diameter is the corresponding tire side wall. often the smaller rim has a taller tire. Not sure what tire's are out there for 14" rims these days.

deflate your spare and buy a cheap 12volt compressor.

A175/65-14 gives me an outside diameter of 23" which is 1.5" less than the current spare. That should fit. Where would be a good place to find a "value engineered" wheel?

I have the 14 inch option wheel for my 72, the problem is that it doesn't fit under the strut bar so it's just sitting in my garage with what looks like a 40 year old conti tire on it. I have seen these for sale in the classified section.
Value, that's an oxymoron with the name fuchs attached to it.

Spare

Hello
I am using a 5.5X15 Fuchs wheel with a deflated "space saver" Vandersteen spare in an early OEM gas tank for my 1971 Hot Rod and there is a lot of space around it, maybe this will work for you. I also carry a Porsche 80's tire inflator that I got from ebay in case of emergency. I did this because I installed a D-Zug 935 cross brace and the regular inflated spare for this car could not come in or out from under the brace.
Cheers
Mauricio

When I said "Value Engineered", I meant "cheap" I don't expect that and Fuchs in the same sentence. I'm hoping to find a steel wheel.

I have a inflatable space saver. I'm not sure what's going to happen if I try to inflate it, that's why I was trolling for other options. Also, if I've got a flat, I'd rather change to the spare and get out of there and eliminate the inflation process.

PS, if you inflate one of those collapsed space saver spares, with it go back to the contracted position when you deflate it?

Yes they will, making them reusable in unlimited events.

Why don't you use a 165-60-15 tire on a 15 inch Fuchs or steel Porsche wheel. The total diameter would be 22.8 inches. It is better than no spare tire at all.

I thought I searched every size combination, but I didn't find 165-60-15. Problem Solved! Thanks!

155-60-15 22.3" diam
175-55-15 22.6
