23mm MC with stock SC brakes?

Hi,

Will a 23mm MC work on stock SC calipers?

I will probably have the possibility to test a custom set calipers on my track day toy. This set will require a 23mm MC.

As a fall back, i would also like the posibility to return to stock calipers, but without replacing the MC.

I suppose that the required pedal pressure will be a bit higher with the 23MC, but what about the modulation?

Do you have some experience with this set-up?

Thx

André

I've tried the 23mm with Carrera calipers, this was on track only, no street. It didn't feel as good as the stock master cylinder and required a lot more force. The modulation wasn't as good and I didn't feel like it provided the same feedback. I had to push much harder to get the same braking, and at that point you're close to the limit. You'll probably flat spot your tires getting used to it. Stock master is a much better match.

It will bolt in, I know a few guys that use the 23.8 on track cars w/ A/M or S/M calipers. You need a lot of leg to use it though a booster helps a lot, modulation is actually easier which is why they use it.
