Rebuilt Alternator - problem

So I ordered a rebuilt Paris Rhone 90A alternator for my 3.2 though our host. It arrived in a nice shipping box with no damage to the box. Open the shipping box and the box which contained the alternator was badly damaged with a large hole in the side as if it had been seriously dropped from hight and broke through the box. The alternator was of course damaged and the nut would not budge at all. Despite that it was shipped out. Now this was "drop-shipped" so Pelican never had their hands on it. Pelican said the rebuilder will send me a shipping label to return the damaged unit. Disappointing because now we have yet another delay in my engine build. I do not like drop-ship stuff for this exact reason. Hopefully the rebuilder will send me the label ASAP and also send out the replacement alternator ASAP.

this should be in OT

drop ship has nothing to do with it getting damaged in shipping
my issue would are thye going to wait until they get the bad one back before they ship a new one or are they going to ship the new along with the label.

i got a clutch disk form a company once that had the wrong disk in the correct box. at first the guy i got it from said i would only get my money back if he got his money back from his supplier since i put the disk in my car. (yes it slipped).
it got straightened out.

just a tip, its not always a good idea to air dirty laundry unless there is an issue that is not getting resolved. if you feel you are getting screwed or are unhappy contact pelican and if that goes no where contact wayne.
