What does this hose do???

There's this big nipple-like thing on the side of my airbox, with about 1/4" of hose clamped to it. The hose is torn and gone.

Where does it go???

(EDIT)

OK, upon closer inspection it's where the plug is going in the corner of the side triangle there.

I'm stupid on this, so please be kind.

Yo Blue....
I just looked in my engine-less engine compartment.
It goes to the charcoal canister that sits in the upper right-hand corner, near the oil filler. Probably a useless POS.

On my car the hose went to the charcoal filter which is now gone, so I plugged it.

Thanks. At first I thought it was an "air filter bypass valve".

Mine holds a little rubber cap that used to be a hose to the charcole filter.

FWIW, the charcoal filters have a nasty habit of upchucking cabon granules into the air filter housing. Its not hard to imagine what these little buggers would do if ingested past the filter into the intake runners.

Winter project #1: Disconnect the charcoal filter
Cost $0.00, Time 1HR, prevent spendy engine damage.
