Need advice with this situation

Car was hit high in right fender and it flattened the oil hose, how could I go about repairing? Are these parts still available or will I have to take another route.

An easier route.

Pull the line. Figure out how to pressurize with air and using a propane torch to soften it will pop back into shape.

Don't know the ins and outs but it has been done.

Brilliant!! Now I just have to figure out how to loosen those nuts up,looks pretty tight up where the thermostat is. Does someone have another brilliant idea or thread to share.

Be careful with the heat and how much air you use. If the line is creased at all you can split the crease if you apply too much air while heating. I fixed a line on my car that was crushed at least that bad. Another note, use Kroil or PB blaster for a few days before you attack the fittings on the thermostat.

Started the ritual PB blasting for PIA nuts. This appears to be a 5 to 10 curse word job, I know those nuts are gonna put up a good fight.Thanks for the help guys

Go easy on those nuts. If you feel much resistance coming off stop. My brother stripped his and had to install the thread savers on his.

Once you get the concave part outward and slightly proud of flat, just squeeze them round with channel-locks. Too much heat and they pop, so go slow.

Best way to round out the tubing is with a crescent wrench. Adjust the wrench where the round part is and start working towards the flat part rotating the wrench as you go. You may want to heat it but you need to be careful.

If you have never tried this take a piece of tubing and flatten part of it then take the wrench, adjust it to the pipe size and work it towards the flat part rotating it around the pipe as you go. It works.

Other then that, you can heat the tubing - I think they are steel until it is cherry red and do the same with the wrench. It does work.

Both of mine were crushed totally flat by the P.O. I just replaced them. Had no idea how lucky I was to get them off with no damage to the thermostat. You may consider using anti-seize on the threads for assembly.

I had a similar problem and wound up removing the thermostat and oil lines as one unit. Laying on the ground it looked like a giant spider! I had bought one of the oil line wrenches just for this job. It proceeded to bend out of shape well before the nuts came loose. Then I made a wrench out of a piece of 1/2" steel to fit the nuts at the thermostat. I held the thermostat in place with a large pipe wrench (4 feet long!), put the homemade wrench on the fittings and whacked the wrench handle with a large ball peen hammer. The weight of the wrench transferred the shock better than a regular wrench and loosened the nuts with just a few wacks! A picture of the wrench:

Ok tried to loosen nuts no go wouldn't budge,tried heat PB blaster et. Does anyone have any more input before I take all the lines and thermostat out??
