SC Engine wiring harness connector

I need some advice on how the main engine wiring harness connector is dis-connected at the electrical box on the bodywork at the left side of the engine? Is there a tab or other locking device that needs 'moved' before it comes apart? What is the easy way to do this? Pictures?

Better to get advice before I hurt something...

Motorman,

Are your referring to the 14-pin connector for the engine wire harness? The engine wire harness is connected to the chassis wire harness by the 14-pin connector located on the engine bay fuse panel. The 14-pin connector has the male and female sides (one side for the chassis and the other side to the engine). Look very closely at the 14-pin connector and you will see the split (male/female configuration). Use a small screw driver to start separating the two sides. Gradually work at both ends to separate them.

Inspect the 14-pin housing/s, if they are cracked or broken, time to replace it. Keep us posted.

Besides the 14 pin connector Tony described there is the Connecto to the bottom of the CDI unit, there is a white T shaped 2 pole connector, and depending on the year there is a 3 pole VR connector all as part of the engine harness. All located near the CDI.
