Question Chip???????

Oh Great Sage's of the Pelican BBS. Can you tell me if this is the STOCK chip that came with my 1988 911 Carrera?

Markings: Sticker says "911 SPORT 1984-89", Underneath sticker says "Mitsubishi". On the chip it says D2764A-2 K8291402 INTEL 83.

I am taking all the performance upgrades that came with my 911. A performance chip was one of those. Do you have a picture of a stock chip? Maybe the stock one is the one installed for all I know.

Thanks Great Sage's!

I have the stock chip from my old 86 somewhere... I'll try to dig it up and post a photo. I doubt the chip you posted is stock.

By-the-way, as I said I am removing the performance upgrades. If any fellow Pelican Head's are interested:

K&N Air Filter
B&B Tri-Flow Stainless Muffler

Will be posted out on EBAY soon. If you would like to send me an email, I will reply when I post them. Sorry for the shameless advertising, just thought there may be some interest.

The stock chip has a silver sticker on it. Your's would have "1267355358" on the sticker I think.

Doesn't look stock to me

I don't believe there would be a range (84-89) on a stock chip.

Here's the stock chip from my '89.

I believe '88-'89 had the 28 pin chip and the '84-'87 had 24 pins.

Now that's a stock chip!

That's what a stock chip looks like. In fact I'd be concerned as to the source of the chip you have in your car. Any reputable "tuner" would have their name on the label. Autothority, Dinan, Hyperchip etc... A quick view of the code would most likely identify the source. My point is that it may be a knock off (copied) chip.

Thanks everyone. I agree, stock chip would not have a sticker that said 84-89. Didn't have my thinkin cap on - duh!.

The car is in the shop and my Wrench said he would take a look and see what's there right now.

If it turns out that one is not stock also, anyone have one they want to sell or know a source for a stock chip?

She comes home tommorow.

K&N Air Filter on EBAY Sat.
B&B Muffler also on EBAY Sat.

Jason, if you can't find a stock chip, I can burn you one with the factory coding. Just let me know. stevekw@pacbell.net
