Brushed Aluminum Seat Latches
This side of the forum is a little new for me, since I'm a 944 guy, but here goes.
We make 944 parts and are now taking pre-orders for brushed aluminum seat latches, which also fit the 911 from 78-86 (certain models it appears). Check them out if interested. Only944.com Seat Latches ![]()

Those look nice. I wonder, after sitting in the car all day at 160*F, how it'll feel when you grab one of these? Sort of like an aluminum shift knob under the same conditions.

Yeah, that has been brought up. If you live where it gets super hot, 100+ then you might not want to get them, or just be careful. It's 90 to 95 here and they feel just fine, even after sitting in the car. They are warm though. But you have a good point.
I think the looks way outweigh the pain. lol.

Update:
We have been testing the seat latches to see how hot they will get in the car. And here is what we found out. Outside temp 90-93 with high humidity. Seat latches sitting in the car, in the shade = not hot at all, barely warm. Seat latches sitting in the rear of the car, in direct sunlight for hours = warm, but not hot Then I placed the seat latches in the windshield of the car, on top of my reflective windshield shade. So there was, windshield, seat latches, then reflective shade. This worked like an oven and really cooked the seat latched. They were very hot and you could no touch them without getting burned. So in extreme heat, and in direct sunlight, they will burn you. But the seat latches sitting in the car, in sunlight on a hot day will not burn you. Just thought I would update those that are interested. Thanks, -Kyle

If An owner's car gets that hot in the sun than I vote they are doing it wrong!

How about black anodized? That would look great.

Black Anodized !
Great idea, I've always disliked the cheap plastic on my 911's seat latches and the plastic door pulls. I like the aluminum but would prefer the stock look in black?

I'm surprised at how many request I have been getting for black anodized seat latches, from both 944 and 911 people. I would think black seat latches would look just like the stock parts and then what's the point of buying them, but that's just my opinion. (yes I know they are much stronger than OEM plastic latches)
After our first batch which will be brushed aluminum, I will look into making a batch that's black as well. I'm very leary about anodizing them black though. All the black anodized parts I have ever seen turn purple when they sit in the sun for any amount of time. Then you would have purple seat latches, and that's not very cool (unless you have a purple interior). I was thinking about powder coating them black. What do you guys think?

I would like a set or two in black powder coat. We've had varying success with black powder coat and sun fading. As long as its going to stay BLACK, then I'm IN!
