So Cal (greater LA/Valley) upholstery shop?

Looking for a good upholstery shop that is reasonable and doesn't charge the "porsche tax". Good work is of course important. I just need basic stuff (rear seat covers etc).

Thanks

Give Kevin at Automotive Innovations and Restoration (Van Nuys) a call. He's KevinP73 on the board. We were just talking about this last weekend when I stopped by his shop to say hello and I pointed out a tear in my seat piping to him. While Kevin doesn't do the work himself, he mentioned he has a reference for a guy in the Valley who does good work at reasonable prices.

Kevin did my body work. His guy, Morro, is good but not cheap. He wanted $800 just to sew new rear seat covers, not including matierial!

Morro did some seat work for me. Turned out well and the price in my case seemed reasonable. Cant go wrong with Kevins advice ! Kevin is a great guy.

You might also contact Tony and Marco at TLG in North Hollywood. Phone is 818-982-7618 I think the guy they use is Levon (sp ???) Call TLG and check me on that. .

I had my front and back seats re-upholtered last week, picked them up last night and the work is pretty good, paid $700 for Leather on the front seats, and vinyl in the back, and it comes with a 3yr warranty. I took the seats to B&D Auto Upholstery in Lomita CA, I'll post pics later today

I remembered seeing Gabe's on some of the hotrod shows on TV.
I think they were La Habra or somewhere nearby. They worked from a house / garage and did beautiful work.

It's been awhile since I had any upholstery work done, and when I did it wasn't on the Porsche. These guys, however, did a GREAT job for me. It's a nondescript little shop in the heart of Van Nuys, but the work was top-notch.

It helped me reconnect with Lovon's son (George) who carries on with the family trade. I have NO aff'l other than being a very picky/satisfied customer. His #: 818-438-7299
