Anyone know why some center caps have two holes in them and some none? (Black ones for fuchs wheels.) My '85 has holes, but others do not. Was it done for different model years or are there actual differences in the caps? Are they interchangeable?

The holes are in the caps so that you can insert a two pronged puller for removal. Otherwise, they fit so tight that you have to sometiomes pull the wheel to get them off.
Not a big deal sometimes, but most race tech committee's require removal so that they do not become a hazard on the track if they fall off..... Why do they others not have them? Well, couple of reasons...they may not be oem, they are on pretty cars that don't race....8^) |

There were different styles of center caps over the years. Very early, 3 pronged clips, then a round solid press in clip..not sure of the year this change was made, but will guess the '73 models went to the round clip? The holes? Now we're into the "new stuff" and I'm not sure, but I think there was a tool designed to insert in the holes, allowing you to pull the caps off without prying or removing the wheels...hope somebody adds more & corrects me if I'm wrong.
