Removing hood crest
I am trying to remove the hood crest. I look up the two holes there are not any nuts
But there are these small rectangular plates up there. Has anyone seen this before an d what is the best way to remove them? Thanks I read project 73 in Wayne's book but it doesn't talk about anything that looks like this. |

Two studs with 8mm speed nuts is standard.....but you never know what previous owners will do or have done. Pics are equal to a 1,000 words.

No nuts.....tap them out. Use a wooden dowel, placeit on the stud, tap with a hammer.....

Wooden dowel is for wheel center caps
There are non factory speed clips on this one try a needle nose plier or a pcb board hook to get them off..

Looks to me like rubber snubbies w/o speed nuts. No nuts, tap it out....I still recommend a wooden dowel. SMALL one, a 2 inch dowel is for the Fuchs caps. Better pic w/o the rubber and I may change my mind.
The OP should be smart enuff to figure out that nuts won't pound thru.
