Turbo Tie Rod not fitting Boge Strut

Hello all,
Just installed new Boge struts and also new turbo tie rods on my 911 SC.
Oddly enough, the tie rod end does not slip into the streering arm of the strut!
My experience in the past with non-911 type cars is that the tie rod usually slips down in a little and taking a rubber mallet to get it to seat all the way down.

I am going to mic both the tie rod and steering knuckle to see what I get, but right now it is as if both the circumference and diameter are the same with no room for them to slip into each other.

Just do not know if someone else has come across this or I am simply doing something wrong.

Thanks
Allen

My turbo tie rods were installed by the previous owner so sadly I’m no help. I just wanted to compliment you on your impressive list of transportation options.

They should fit unless you got the completely wrong parts. Boge and Bilstein are compatible in this regards.
Compare the new to the old parts.

Agreed. Hardest part was removing the old tie rods.

Agree with the others that there should be no problem.

However I did notice something in your post that may be relevant, the bold in your post. It may be just your phrasing, but the way it is written made me visualize that you were inserting the tie rod end from the top of the knuckle, downward. If so, it should be inserted from the bottom, upward. The hole, IIRC, is tapered to receive the tie rod from the bottom.

If I misunderstood your post and you actually attempted to install the tie rods from the bottom, then I apologize and just ignore this message.

I read the the OP's statement the same way you did and had the same
thoughts you had. Could perhaps possibly be the problem. I've made
some rookie mistakes myself in the past 46 yrs of 911 ownership. LOL

Lol....you guys are right!!!
Was trying to insert from the top versus the bottom.
Working way to much and trying to fit in working on my car with bits of time here and there. Been apart so long, lost track of where I was.
Thanks for the correcting me!
QueWhy...my wife put our transportation list in as she thought it funny how others do so. I am lucky enough to have a large barn/land to park it all.

Edit: Your response came in before I was able to search for the article and copy/paste the images below.

Pictures are in the tie rod DIY article on this site:

Ha, you made my night. I just put turbo tie rods on my 86. The first side slipped right on and the other did not, until I realized I was putting it on upside down. I just laughed at my self, and thanks, you gave me another laugh out of that. You are not the first or the last to make a mistake on a rebuild.
Now for a little dinner, then poker.
