915 2nd Gear Synchro Question

'82 SC

Would a bad second gear synchro prevent you from shifting into or out of 2nd gear even with the engine off. Further would you get shaking of the shifter with a bad synchro or could this be a bad transmission mount? Thanks

I am sure others may know better but it may be that the shift linkage is needing adjustment.
try doing a search on it. There have been tons of threads on 2nd gear problems

Shifting the 915 transmission with the car off is harder than when the car is on, at least on my car.
My car would bind going into 2nd gear. It would come out of 2nd gear pretty easy. I changed the bushings in the coupler and readjusted the coupler and it shifts pretty good now. Its easy to make these adjustments and pretty cheap.

Same here... new bushings and linkage adjustment made a big difference.
