Porsche Engineering at GM?

I am sure many here have read about Porsche's Engineering group assisting Studebaker in the late 50's or early 60's - has anyone ever heard of any Porsche involvement in some of the more "creative" vehicles to come out of GM in the 60's?

Specifically I am thinking of the Corvair, a vehicle TOTALLY out of left field for GM of that day...seems there almost HAD to be some outside influence at work there? Is there any historic information available, that one can point to? Inquiring minds want to know???

Porsche Design, a different company, does the coffee makers, pens, glasses and such.

(Misinformation Eliminator ON)

Porsche didn't "did" the VSCRA V-Rod. They did not design the bike. They did not design the engine. Harley-Davidson did. Porsche was simply consulted to help transition the engine design from a racing mill to a production engine.

(Misinformation Eliminator OFF)

Have a nice day.

Agreed. Again, part of turning a race engine into a production engine. Sounds darn good too, I understand. Haven't heard one in person yet, though.

Ive heard one and also have riden one. Better hold on because the bike will dump you off the back in a heart beat if you're not holding on tight. The bike has power.

If Porsche didn't design any of the v-rod engine , then why does Harley- D have to have a special license agreement with Porsche to manufacture it.

Yeah, one of the things that companies like H-D pay Engineering firms like Porsche the big bucks for, is the ability to take credit for all the work...

Years ago, I worked for a Japan-based electronics company that provided some of the core technology for all Cray Supercomputers...but you would never hear anyone say that - Seymour Cray (RIP) did it all in his own shop...

So -all of the above is why I originally wondered about a possible GM / Porsche connection. Guess IF there ever was one no one here is aware of it..
