Triad exhaust (3.6 only please) drone question

Hey everyone.

For those of you that have the triad exhaust on your 993"s or 3.6 swapped 911s (which mine will be)
Does your triad exhaust drone at all? How is the sound at idle? Normal driving? Track?
Any additional info is greatly appreciated

I tried to get more info on the Triad exhaust a couple of years ago but was unable to get in contact with the guy that makes them.

I started to reply to this thread a few weeks ago, but my experience is with a Triad on a 3.2 with SSIs, not a 3.6, so I didn't want to add an unsolicited opinion.

Having said that, in my experience the Triad had almost no drone at all. It was actually very quiet. It has a great exhaust note, but mine (a "street" version) was just too quiet, so I took it off and replaced it with a Dansk factory-style sport muffler.

Back when I still had mine installed, I tried to get back with the guy making them (forget his name) as I wanted to order a "track" version since I loved the note, just wanted something a little louder. From what I understand, the guy currently (?) making them is not the original Triad guy - he just bought the tooling and continues to make them on the side. When I talked to him on the phone about a track version (which they supposedly offer), he seemed willing. I thought about for a week or two and called him back to order it and never answered the phone or returned my calls. I figured that was a bad sign and I gave up. This was probably 10 years ago.

I think Triads should come with a "YMMV" warning...

I had a dual out triad (with the turned-down right side outlet) and it droned a lot on my 3.2, and even worse on my friend's 3.0. It was so bad it made his roll bar resonate like a tuning fork.

But I've also met other people who, like Mike, have no problems with them.

My other suggestion is George's Euro headers into a 2 in 1 out Bursch/Dynomax muffler.

If you want to go all stainle$$ then M&K headers (with or without heat) into a Monty 2 in 1 out muffler.
