You need to identify what each one is for and see which ones reach each connecting harness best.
I know you are replacing the harness from a fire so you don't have the original placement.
I'm almost sure they are differently placed than LHD are on your RHD.

Pin out female 6pole connectors

I think the one fully on the left is the ignition switch connector (you can confirm this by the short yellow wire near the connector which connects to the tunnel harness)
See also the picture from a new LHD SC harness we manufacture.

For the rest its best to take a ohmmeter and test the following: ( i refer to the pin out from our own connection diagrams)

Green wire from window wiper to pin5 (thats the steering column wiper switch)

Pin49A from flasher socket to pin5 (thats the hazard switch)

Brown white from horn connection (which connects to the front harness) to pin 4 (thats the steering column switch)

Grey-red on the fusebox (the 19th fuse) to pin3 (thats the light switch)

I hope this helps to take another Porsche back on the road again.

Another question I have is...does anyone have a correct fuse box layout for a 911 sc I can go off,,
Here is my current fuse box I have no idea what is what going on here...

Is there any doco that states what fuses are what position number and where reley sockets should be set in which hole on the frame?

Sorry for the dumb questions but I do want to try and stay to the porsche standard

Fusebox layout

I think this will help?

The smaller numbers (21 to 1 ) are the numbers corresponding with the original drawings, and the larger fonts (1 -21) refer to our own connection diagrams.

G'day Hellblau82,

I am currently doing a restoration on my 81SC, shame we are not a bit closer.

Does this photo help,
blink = blinker switch plug
wiper = wiper switch plug
ign = ignition switch plug
head light = head light switch
hazard = hazard light switch plug

Regards
Brett

Hi

Hey Mate!

This is absolutely perfect I could not of asked for more..Thankyou very much!
Yes it's very much a shame we are not closer I recently got myself a bit of a bastardized harness unfortunaly which had been modified for left hand drive and working through is testing me.
Fact is it's going to be simply something I can't rush.
I will continue to use this thread for all my wiring issues I'm having.
There's a lot of them!

Is this how this harness should go together? Then push straight into the back of the ignition?

I've also noticed that there are two spaces for numbers
30
15
And letter X

Does it matter which one you connect it too?

Fuse box help

Can anyone help identify any parts of my fuse box here. Took some quick snaps before I went out to work.
You can see where I have cut the main harness in order to extending it..that easy
Just trying to identify the other parts I have numbered
This is how my harness came when I bought it
If it's not obvious to anyone I will just have to buzz it out
