Off my first DE in my 911!

Well, I leave work early today to for my drive up to Thunderhill for my first trackday in my 911. While I have quite a bit of track experience (NASA - RX-7, Kawasaki ZX-9) this is my first in the 911. I really looking forward to meeting some of the Pelican heads attending this event and learning to drive my car near its limit.
Also I can figure out my next step for suspension upgrades!

I will report back on my experience and how the SC faired on its first track experience.

I was looking forward to meeting in person. I hope your trany gets fixed in time. Any word from the mechanic?

Matt I'll see you there! I'll be in my copper metalic SC, w/black Ducktail. Looks like the weather is going to be great too!

Thom I hope you get your car back together in time too!

My wife and I will be there, too, in our white '86 Carrera cabriolet. I'm all set up to take in-car video, so we'll have to do some lead/follow and post the video next week.

Are you guys all doing Sat AND Sun?

See you there,

Dean

Just talked to the shop; engine and trans are still out; he's fabbing up the return line for the trans cooler. He says to come by at 6:00pm

Thom,

Try not to make too much noise when you roll into the Golden Pheasant Best Western at 2am tonight...

Make the mechanic stay late to get it done - this is gonna be a great weekend!

Well, the weekend came off without a hitch. Thom and Widebody made it there in one piece and he broke in the new tranny work with some hot laps on the track.

It was great to meet you guys finally, Thom and Matt.

Luckily, the videos I'll post later this week don't end with an "ouch" (sorry Jack!). I went out on the track behind Thom in the first run session. I've got some great in car footage from behind you, Thom. Unfortunately, I didn't get the sound hooked up until Sunday, but the video is still pretty cool. You were smokin' with a 2:16 during the TT, Thom. Nice driving! I only managed a 2:17.2

I wish you could have stayed for Sunday - it was more of the same. We got more track time than we could take -- and the entire weekend ended incident free with the exception of a couple mechanicals.

I look forward to running on the track with more pelicanites in the future!

Dean
