Replace Both Fr. Struts?

My right front strut is bad--prudence already tells me to replace both fronts simultaneously. Is prudence correct?

He is correct. Never ever replace just one or you're just asking for trouble.

While it is expensive, unless the strut was damaged by an accident, as opposed to old age, replace them in pairs.

Anyone know of a good source?

Jack,

A good source appears to be our gracious hosts--best price I've seen, appr. $379 ea.

At least for Jack, the Bilstein RSR (threaded) struts might be worth considering. They are barely more than a regular non-coilover strut and come with the race/rallye insert. My understanding is you can use them w/o actually running the coilover springs, but would have the option to go to the coilovers later if desired. I think Smart Racing quoted low $400's/ea.

Jack normally I would say find some new ones. But if you are planning to move the spindle up, a pair of old ones might work out ok for you.
