backdating sunroof...is it possible?

This might be a strange question, I doubt many would attempt this but I'd appreciate some input

Is it possible to backdate the sunroof rail guides and wind reflector from the 84 to early bright chrome/aluminum parts?

the reflector on later models have weak plastic hinges that break often, im already on my 3rd set. I wonder if the early metal parts would be more sturdy.
