The BBS blocked part of the domain name where the pics are. Must have a bad word
in it. If you can load them onto the pelican server or another domain, that will take care of the problem.------------------ Ted Stringer nuke3@juno.com '84 911 Targa aka pocketrocket |

Hey,
You gotta hand it to these guys for their imagination, and to a select few for their craftsmanship. Once they grow up they will develop "better", more classic taste in automobiles. I think these "rice rockets" can be compared to some of your "hot rods" of the '50's and '60's, but of course if you're from the that generation you would probably disagree. |

I totally agree with Noah.
I don't particularly care for the 50s and 60s rods myself, but I can see their beauty and creativity. They are usually based on improving the flowing lines of a car, cleaning up all the superfluous stuff put on by Ford and GM "stylists." There is no artistry in cars like the ones shown above. No imagination at all, and no aesthetic sense, either. Sloppily grafting on a fiberglass reproduction rear end of an American sports coupe, onto a Japanese sedan, is just silly. History will be the judge. 50s and 60s hot rods are highly thought of by the market and collectors. Do you think 30 years from now, people will be lining up to buy cars like the ones pictured above?!? |

Well put, and throwin' down 2 Live Crew! I thought I wouldn't see that on this board!
I am 35 this month. You are probably right. These cars are a pop culture - but a huge one. I guess I also like looking at people's creations - even if they are in bad taste. They make me laugh and wonder. Tim |
