Elgin Cams v. Web Cams

Boys,

Since I am in the process of rebuilding my 3.3T I figured I'd have my stock 930 cams reground the SC specs. Has anyone here utlized Elgin Cams ? If so please post feedback. The same goes for Web Cams although they seem a little more well known. Thank you.

Rich, I can't comment on Elgin, but Web-Cam gave me excellent service when I ordered my 20/21's from them by telephone.

Can't comment on Elgin. I've only heard good things about Web.

Thumbs up

I know of several race shops that use Elgin cams with good results. Both companies have seem plenty of 911 cams, and since they both certainly have the SC grind available, I'd pick the one who gives you the cheapest quote.

The last time I tried to call Elgin Cams (Redwood City, CA) the number went to a "no longer in service" recording. Have they moved? Are they still in business? Jim

both should be fine. i use webcam a lot, especially for the SC grind on turbo cams. they tend to be busy at certain times, so allow at least 2 weeks.

I heard that too, and to further muddy the waters, their web page was down for a while. However, the page is back up now, and I just called their number, and got an answering machine: "Thanks for calling Elgin cams......."

My mechanic (German Motorsport in Fremont) highly recomends them.

Tom

Both were highly recommended by the folks I spoke w/ Elgin was harder to get a hold of than Webcam, in addition Webcam had exactly the cams I was looking for so I went with them.
