Labor Day 2015 "What the Heck is This?"
Spending the Labor Day weekend making some progress on the car. I'm reinstalling some of the bits behind the dash and found an object with a wire hanging from it.
I have no idea what it is and what it is supposed to connect to. I've been through all my disassemble photos and can't find it. Small block with an electrical connection on either side. It is mounted right behind the clock. Does anyone have a clue? I don't. ![]() Thanks in advance, Glenn

My guess from the link DaddyGlenn provided is that it is a factory relay similar to a turn signal relay.
Juice goes through it when the intermittent wiper knob is turned. The resistance built into the relay heats up contact points and they separate allowing wipers to "chill" for a time. They contacts cool down, flex back into place and the wiper works for another swipe. Guessing the adjustment knob may be a rheostat of sorts that controls the amount of current through the relay block. Less current, less heat, more frequent swipes. I have to think the wipers always get 12V when they are energized but the relay block enters the equation when the intermittent knob is engaged. That is a semi wild ass guess. Worth every penny you paid. ![]()

Works for me, Bob. What ever it does, it is now connected correctly.
