More on the Cab/SCWDP/3.6 update, retro look..if ya care
Duck tail addition, I MIGHT still do the front fender/other look as well to do the RS early style look.....but they are expensive.....maybe find some this winter at Pomona that aren't priced in their weight of gold.

Yes it is RAINING here in Sunny CA.....the front bumper has the MOCAL oil cooler, running 7s and 8s with 225/45 and 245/45 rubber. No rolled fenders no rubbing......
AND YES, the duck tail needs a little more alignment work.... Last edited by Joe Bob; 11-09-2002 at 08:25 AM.. |

Mike,
That looks great! Now I can see that you only need a center valance in the rear. (Unless you want to continue the muffler-babe tease look.) My center valance is for single-out exhaust. You might get a proper dual out center piece at a wrecker for a few pfennigs. Let me know.

Hey Mike... a little off topic here... but I love Santa Barbara and have been wondering... what the heck do people do for a living there? Other than retirement and school that is.

If ya work for Gubmint, starve.....this Health Care stuff is killing me. Four years ago, 1800 to cover the wife and kids.....now it's almost 8,000 with barely any raise in salary....
Other than working for the University or asking if ya want fries wit dat burger...not much else..... My HOUSE is the one thing that is worth anything.....but if I sell it, can't afford anything else in the area...... |

Mike,
Consider a high deductible PPO. I pay $3000/year in premium with a $2000 deductible for a family of 5. I rarely use the deductible, and my family can go anywhere, see anyone for treatment. Someone from the U.K. said "Thank goodness for the N.H.S." Well, having worked in the NHS for more than a year, thank goodness we don't have the NHS! It's a great system unless you need something. It's like Kaiser, but with much longer waits and it's a virtual impossibility to get "elective" surgery like joint replacement in a timely fashion. I'm a huge Anglophile, but in my opinion, the NHS is the only thing in England that doesn't work well. Just my 2 cents.

__________________ Besides Lucas Electrical???? Will look into that PPO thing...thanks...... Still trying to get the alignment straight on the duck tail.....are double shocks on the left side ONLY, standard? A turbo 930 friend has single on the right and double on the left with the turbo tail which is what I took off to put on the duck tail.... The hinge shocks seem to be what is stressing up on the left side..... |

Mikey, I swear the tail was straight on my car
![]() If I recall, there is a place to add the rubber stops at the bottom corners. I'd also try moving one of those shocks to the other side, if possible. As for jobs in SB, we use to have a great aerospace and technology base here. I was at one of the few remaining tech firms.....until a recent layoff.... Santa Barbara, home of the newly-wed and the nearly dead!

Looks great Mike! Can you post some sound clips of that beastly looking exhaust setup? I'd like to do the ducktail thing too--quite popular now--there's something about that retro tail that just looks great. Where did you get yours? Who manufactured it and are there any secrets to installing it? Any details would be greatly appreciated.

As long as you have swerved off topic, my health insurance just went up to $10,560 p/yr!
It has doubled in two years and my copays have doubled too. Ridiculous.

![]() Santa Barbara makes San Diego look low rent. How about getting your realty licence? Probably only need to be involved in 2-3 transactions all year to do pretty good. |

Ditch the rocker covers to accentuate the retro look.

I worked at UCSB for 9 years and lemme tell ya, it was really hard to focus some days, especially the hot ones. My office over looked the path near the on-campus dorms. Scantly clad chix, coming and going all day, nary a bra to be seen, babes laying on the lawn in bikinis. I still get email from my buddies on hot fall days as the students return to school, informing me of what I am missing
