Brake Lights 1983 911sc

Hey guys,
I am curious I turn the ignition, and find my brake lights (?) on. The other lights are all off. How do I fix the problem?

I would check the brake light switches. They are located on the brake master cylinder and probably need to be replaced.

Can you make the lights go out by pulling up slightly on the brake pedal?

Thank you Oh Ha Ha, for responding. No the lights won't go out pulling up the brake pedal. They do go off when I turn the ignition off. I had my car on jacks (the front) for weeks just recently, will that have any thing to do with the fluid in the M C?

Check the light assembly, the ground may be ajar or broken off the PCB type board where the sockets sit. Over time it get brittle.

I just checked the car and I press the brake pedal down ignition off no lights. Turn the ignition one turn lights on, no foot on the pedal. Start the car up and lights on, push brake pedal still on.
So Draco your saying the board is where the master cylinder is?

Hey Draco, are you saying take the brake light assembly out? Is the PCB board at the master cylinder?

I found the answer: Porsche O phile posted his rebuild on his tail light assembly and defined a lot. Thanks for your help DRACO. By popular demand - tail light rebuild/LED conversion
