Front suspension collar orientation
![]() This is a photo of the arrangement on RH side control arm with reinforcing or surface plate on the bracket assembly mating to the chassis bolt hole while the LH (driver's) side was mounted opposite (rotated 180 deg. axially). I removed both control arms for new bushings about 18 mos. ago & cannot for the life of me, remember which one is correct. I've done the search & have been unable to find a clear enough photo to show its true position. I'm thinking the photo may show the proper orientation. Could anyone please advise. Thanks in advance Cheers JB

JB,
The orientation of the front bushing mount you have with the surface plate facing up towards the body of the car is correct. At least that is the way they are on my car (both sides). David

Are you referring to whether the thicker part where the bolts go through should be up or down?
I'd put it up, on the theory that that will give more anti-dive than orienting ti the other way. Lowering the front mount gives more anti-dive, raising it gives less. The amount in question, though, is minuscule. Porsche lowered the fronts on the Turbos well more than this, and raised the rears (which you can't do just with shims) to get what they needed. |

930: Reinforcement up
911: Reinforcement down It's because of the different geometry for a 930 (more antidive)

I think this is incorrect. The front mounts on the 930 simply have thicker spacers. Both mounts are attached with the spacers facing upwards.
