Fiberglass RSR bumper roll call

Folks,

A few months back I purchased a few fiberglass parts from Rennspeed in California. I had done some research and was convinced that their parts were very good (heck, Jack Olsen bought his fiberglass parts from these guys more then ten years ago).

The front and rear bumpers I received are decent quality but lack proper mounting brackets: The rear 1973 RSR bumper has no brackets at all and is completely slick on the backside. The 9" wide "s" front bumper has some fiberglass flaps that can be made into mounting brackets I suppose with some work.

I have decided to change the "s" bumper I had bought for a proper rsr replica piece. Who makes the best one with some sort of mounting solution incorporated into the piece? I don't mean to mention names here but many sell these fiberglass parts now and I believe it could be beneficial to record people's thoughts on the various parts that are out there.

So where did you buy your fiberglass bumpers? What is the quality and fit like?

I have been looking at these guys but am leery of the whole shipping-from-Europe-to-here thing (supposedly DHL cargo is the way to go). The packing, shipping & customs issues gives me pause. They're in Germany, the link is their UK/English version of website. Their products appear very high quality and with the Euro almost on par with the dollar, I was considering it. Was going to post on some sites in Germany or Europe that are equivalent to Pelican or PCA and ask about experiences with the products. If you read the descriptions, they have brackets & even metal headlight buckets moulded in.

New products !!!

We have just started to make 911R Bumpers for front and rear.

We have paid specific attention to the mounting brackets.

The front bumper has aluminium corner brackets and the centre brackets use the same floating anchors as the real 911R.

At the moment the bumper has flat corners as did the early 911R Prototypes but we will develop a version with a small flare and then an ST Version.

We also make the SWB Bumper Irons in 'black anodised' Aluminium.

The rear 911R bumper has the correct exhaust cut outs and suits the Rear Fender Flares that we also make in steel.

We have a flat sided version for SWB/LWB cars with standard arches.

We are also developing an RS/RSR Version

Corner brackets and centre brackets for long hood cars are pressed from Aluminium and bonded in place.

We make a glassfibre centre bracket which allows this bumper to bolt up to Impact Bumper Mounts.

We also make Aluminium Crush Tubes.

All of our bumpers have a clear inner finish and use a woven mat, we guarantee that they will be free from air bubbles in the gel coat and that they will fit easily onto a 'straight' car.

We have supplied several of our UK Customers with painted bumpers that have just bolted up to the car with no modifications.

The problem is we are in the UK and would need to ship a number of bumpers at the same time to make pricing sensible into the USA.

AIR provided me with brackets. They are fibreglass, but they are there.

GT Racing and Shaw both make RSR style bumpers (front and rear) that come with glassed in mounting brackets... Have used both and both have fit well.
