I am installing Blisten sport shocks in my 84 Cab. It has Boge strut housing. Do I need a special tool to take apart the top nut? Or a big monkey wrench will do

I just changed the shocks on my 88 and I used a monkey wrench. No problems.

J22,
You can use a monkey wrench but why? It scuffs up the shock retainer and just looks terrible. Bilstein provides a wrench free with the shocks and if there is not one in the box, call them on their 800 number and they will send one out to you for free! Besides, its hard to measure the torque with a monkey wrench! If you are in the Houston or Dallas area I have a wrench you can borrow. Bilstein is on either coast, in CT or CA and is very nice to work with. JoeA |
