Dash reinstall question

I got my dash back from AIR. It looks great. I have one question that I haven't seen answered yet. There's extra material around the base of the dash at the front. In my 1980 911, this material had a few screws in it. I haven't read about these screws in the other dash threads I've gone through. Here's a photo of my new dash just laying in place a few inches back from it's final position. Should I put these screws back? I've circled the holes in the body so you can see what I'm referring to.
thanks
Dave

those holes are to screw the overlapping dash material down. When they put the windshield seal in that material cannot be sticking out.

Thanks. I got the dash in place and found that one of the plastic pins isn't gripping very well. I'm going to take it out and use a new pin and a new plastic retainer.

Anyone ever just put velcro on the underside of the dash and on top of the instrument panel to hold the dash down and skip the plastic pins?

Better to follow a German engineer's advice. Know what I am saying?

Velcro may work. But......wait for it..........Do you feel lucky, Punk?

Follow the rules. Less pain.

Turn around was 3 or 4 weeks which is what they told me. I posted the price earlier which was also what they told. Very nice folks to work with.
