Question SC 915 transmission in Carrera?

Have any of you converted the SC 915 box to '84-'86 Carrera spec by grinding the case to accept DME sensors?

how much of a job is this? I get the impression that it's just a notch on the outside of the transmissioncase...Correct?
So the question would be is this something I can do with a Dremel tool? or is this something definitely for a machine shop to handle?

are there other obstacles to using the SC 915 that i'm overlooking

I used a small hole saw to drill round holes near edge of case where sensors are located. Then I used a hacksaw to open up holes to edge.

I did mine when I did the 3.6 swap. Not a big deal. An air hand grinder worked fine.

John, it's not a problem. I was very nervous about that issue when I swapped my '75 2.7 for a 3.2. I used a combination of a hacksaw and a 4" grinder. Don't sweat it, just keep trying for a proper fit so you don't over-do it. Good luck.
