Is it possible to drill new holes in the bar to make it adjustable??
 

I have purchased an 85+ rear 18 mm bar and Chucks well made adjustable drop links for my 74 coupe.

Looking at the bar, it looks like there is sufficient material to be able to drill another hole or two to make the bar adjustable.

Is this workable?? or am i going to see the bar fail?? I could deburr and peen the holes.

Would Lengthening the drop link reduce the angular misalignment significantly??

As long as the adjustable drop links can reach, I don't see why not? I take it you are looking for it to be stiffer, you might want to put it on first and test. By the way, I did this on another car years ago.

I am going through the front now, but am looking down the road to do the rear. I currently have a 18 mm rear and 20 mm front Carrera bars

I am going up one notch from 18.8 t bar to a 21 mm. The rear could be a 27 mm t bar with a bit of adjustability to help balance the handling.

Does this sound doable??

Yes. Mine has 6 years of A/X, a few track days and plenty of So Cal canyon miles - no problem.

Be prepared for some hardened steel and blunt drills.
