Its alllliveee!!

Hey everyone!
So tonight I got it started!!! Finally after everything we have been through the engine actually turned over and ran.
For those who don't know it's an 82 sc that has been sitting around damaged for around 10 years I have been restoring for my dad.
It blew a lot of smoke first few times and now seems to of dialed down.
It now sounds like it runs nice for about 10 seconds then dials down and sounds like it's about to stall.
I thought I could hear like a tick noise every 40 seconds or so...not sure what that could be spark plugs maybe ...
But deffinatley not running very healthy

Not sure what is the status........

Kristian,

Good to hear it is running after all the hard work you had put into this project. But I am a little bit confused about your other post about it starting and die. Which is the recent post? This one or the other? Keep us posted.

Tony

Sounds like a misfire; could the ticking sound be arcing of spark plug wires in or around the distributor? Lots of directions to take here; start with the basics of the ignition system.

BTW, it's wise to keep a clean agent fire extinguisher handy when working on a car of unknown condition such as this.
