Apparently a previous owner switched mirror wiring harness... now what?

With the help of my fellow pelicanites I now know how to reinstall my mirror. Only problem is this wiring harness must not be original. After scouring Pelican for wiring diagrams and taking apart my passenger mirror, the wires don't match up. Passenger mirror and wiring diagrams have blue wire. My driver's side does not. Any ideas on how to rewire this thing. Looks like I have one extra wire on the harness for my driver's mirror.

-Double white pulled completely out, so that's a no-brainer.

-brown is fairly obvious that it pulled out of one post with other brown jumper

-black/yellow match up

-gray/green match up

-Leaves me with one solid black and a black/brown---6 wires total, not 5????

Any ideas appreciated.

Actually there are 6 sockets, the double white, luckily can slip back into the harness, just tweek the locking tabs straight and insert.

I think the black with brown goes to 6 o'clock in your pic and the black goes to 12 position.

let me check wiring diagram

Not sure if this will help, just in case you do not have it:

That should help a ton, thanks! Going to take a look at it again tomorrow. Why are the numbers not in numerical order? I'm assuming that number represents the spot in the plastic piece that is circular. Are they not 1-6 in order? I know I'm an idiot...

Stop it, we all have been there one time or another

Okay, if I were you, I would locate the mirror side wires and match with the diagram above. Note, time and age may have discolored it so it may not be perfect but it will make sense. Before mounting it back on, test it to insure the joy stick is functioning the way you want or expect. Take it slow and make sure the connections are solid and clean. (remember there is a toggle for driver and passenger side mirror activation )

or, find the reference wire, like the brown ground and go clock wise and left to right on the diagram.

It's been a while since I had one of these connectors in my hands but most connectors have small numbers to identify the terminal positions.

All rewired and working properly. Thanks all!

For future searchers that find this thread, some alligator clips and extra wire made the trial and error portion a lot easier.
