Post A slow project but a worthwhile ending?

So it looks like my 1968 911R project is going to be taking a lot longer that I originally intended, mainly because we (That's me and the wife) have decided to expand our house.

So I am not going to be able to build my killer motor this winter, instead I think that I will do a rebuild on the current 2.2T with the thought that it will give me a fresh motor to use for the next year or so, and then sell it when I am ready to finish up the 2.5.

The question is, how easy will it be to sell the 2.2T and how much will it be worth. What upgrades to it that are cost effective would be reasonable to do to make it more desirable. IE I could get JE 9.5 pistons for it to boost the HP a bit but keep everything else stock.

Oh, and just in case you're all wondering why the heck I would build a new house instead of a new car one of the side benefits is that my current 36'x24' garage is going to become 'surplus' as the new house will have an underdrive garage. So the old garage is going to be moved back next to my woodworking shop and become a dedicated auto shop. I may even see if I can get a lift installed.

And since my garage is currently bigger than the house (824sq ft vs 750 for the house) it's getting pretty annoying to find enough room in the house to store all my Porsche magazines and books.

And lets see, the new house is gonna be 1876 sq ft on the main level, plus 400 up, so 2276 total. Then the garages and shop are:
1. New triple underdrive 23x33 = 759
2. Old Triple 36x24 = 864
3. Current Shop 24x22 = 528

Total 2151
Oh my god, the house is going to be bigger then the garages, I better add something on to the old one when I move it.

You can get a nice lift for $2500 +/-. Like Cam- if I had the means I would love to put one in the garage I am about to build.

There are several adds in the "Old Car Trader"

Good Luck- Sean.

I just bought a twin plug engine (2.7) built on a 66 aluminum case...(I think I mentioned this to you a little while ago). Anyway, I just bought another car...so I am thinking of selling this motor. I have the compression and leakdowns (perfect) from Dieters in San Diego when they did an inspection for me on the engine. It's complete with the Bosch distributor, rebuilt Webers, coils and electrics, heat exchangers and single outlet sport muffler, but no clutch. Price is $8,000 and probably worth that in parts alone.....
Let me know.

Hey Eric, unfortunately that's exactly the thing I can't do now. $8,000 US Iworks out to $12,800 cdn, plus shipping, duty and taxes. That's the foundation for the new house. Of course the foundation isn't going to look as sexy as that motor.
