7JX15 on 1973 911T?

Hi, I'm trying to figure out if I can put 7JX15 on the rear on my all stock/factory 1973 911T.
With out doing any modification?
If so what size tires will I need to avoid any tire rubbing.
I know this has been asked before but, on every forum I found threads saying you cant ,unless you change camber or add flares and some saying they did it with out any mods and no tire rubbing.
Thanks for your help

The short answer is that "it depends". Each car is a little different and what works for one person might not work for another. I ran 7x15s with 225/50-15s in the rear with no rubbing, but I had 29 mm torsion bars and rolled fender lips.

Tire sizes are limited so you don't really have many options. I would suggest finding someone with a pair of 7x15s (and a 205/50 or 225/50 tire) and test-fitting them. It's really the only way to be sure.

Thanks for your help, I guess I'm going to have to risk it and buy the wheels and do a test fit with yoko 205/50/15.

The bottom line is to keep the tires as short as possible, 205/50 are pretty short and ought to work

I have 205/60 15's on 7 inch Fuchs, no issues. 205/50 profile is too low for the street imo, fine for the track.

I completely forgot about 205/60s! I ran those originally before going to the 225/50s. The 205/60 fits great. IMHO, that is the best compromise between width and diameter. I ran those before the torsion bar upgrade and they did not require rolling the fender lips. On my car, anyway.

This is from a post of mine in 2004. It pertains to my 1973 911E that I had back then.

The RA-1 shoulder is a bit more squared off and this makes them hard to fit. I don't know what my camber is at the moment, and I might possibly be able to increase it a bit to improve the fit. BTW, my rear t-bars are 26mm (for now!).
