it looks like part if a pin is still in there.

as one that would rather fix something before buying another one, i might just buy a new one....but i would have to see what is left and why it blew out.

I suspect but am not sure it is 944-612-117-01, as I assume you are talking about the receptacle and not the relay itself.

I would suggest that you maybe give a shout out to timmy2 (Dennis) as he fabricates harnesses.
If you are only missing the cover, and if the female pins are sturdy/fixed in place, you should be able to temporarily get by using some 3m electrical or silicon tape to cover the exposed area.

If this isn't going to work, try some electrical potting compound - and make sure a relay is installed first so you don't plug the female connectors. This will be somewhat sacrificial to the connector.

More importantly, let's see the connector that appear to have melted.

I think you can re-use this cover after cleaning.

You could possibly re-solder a new pin connector. I did that for my reverse light connectors after I found them rusted away. Just cleaned the wires and placed new old caps for the connection to the switch.

Next time I suggest the proper amperage relay, if you have not considered it already.

I don't think this picture is his - maybe just borrowed 'cause I recognize that (different) issue from another thread.

Oh Okay, you need the connector housing.

Try contacting 20th Street Auto. They may have a dead 3.2 and maybe they can pull the connector for you???

Not sure, try calling them and talking to them, they are cool cats. I found some NLA parts and they got it for me.

I'm going to have to back track on that part number - it might actually be the 8 pinner version of the housing. I recognized it from the 89 PET, but it wasn't in the '86 for some reason - there is a salvager in Allentown too (a tad closer to you), but I'm coming up with zip - so go with Jim's suggestion.
