1981 3.0L engine noise
The attached video (assuming I am successful in attaching it) is my 1981 3.0L SC. It has about 102K miles. The noise I am trying ti diagnose is the whine you hear. It is not bad alternator bearings--the same noise is present even when the alternator/fan belt is removed.
The compression test was very good--157 lbs average and less than 7 % variation among cylinders. The idle is uneven because the engine was not warmed up, and i have some vacuum leaks to deal with. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance. https://youtu.be/LlJExnkzUbU Greg |
