green slime

My brother has noticed that his 79 911 is leaving a green slimey deposit on his garage floor from under the front of the engine, rear of the tranny.

Any educated guesses on what would a green slimey fluid come from?

Jim

Can I be the first smart*** to say he has a coolant leak?

The only real fluids in that area are oil and tranny / transaxle fluid.... neither of which should be green.

trans fluid. the front shift rod seal on my trans is starting to leak, tends to migrate a bit further down the trans towards the rear before it drips down.

I'll bet this is the problem

I agree with Bergo, A Bad Transmission Shift Shaft Seal, available from our host, relatively easy replacement
