Photoshop help needed....lower my 70"S"

Of courde being a black car it is hard to see the gap between the tire and fender anyway....

What size tyres are they? 205/55 or 205/50.

I think it already looks pretty low! Can you measure the ground to fender clearance and post that? I'm guessing you are already ~1-1.5" lower than standard anyway.

My car doesn't look any lower at the front than yours, but is quite a bit lower at the back (your's looks a little high).

Thanks guys! I like how Eric lightened up the photo so you could see the tires a little better. The rear is perfect but the front is a little too low. I think the stance in Cam's photo was just about right. I run Toyo 205/55-16's on the car and yes it has been lowered a little bit. I just want to get the rear down a little more. I am afraid that those tries will burn the paint off of the wheelwells if I lower it more.

Find a good alignment guy - you may have to run a fair bit of camber ---> it can be a tradeoff.

I've got 205/50s and haven't had a problem... yet. But I haven't dirven that far either.

How low are you cam? Got a good profile shot? Dave

I am around 1" - not too low because I reckon it is more trouble than it is worth (scraping on EVERYTHING). It used to be much lower and I had trouble.

Your car is sweet, but I think you should get a set of deep 6's for it instead of the wheels you've got when you're needing tires. It looks nice lowered, like in Cam's. Just my $.02.

By "deep 6s" do you mean the early 15x6" wheels - if so for comparison purposes that is what I have in the lower picture.

I have 16x6" refinished in the same style in the top picture (I wanted 50 series tyres with a decent speed rating).

Beware if you like the deep dish look of the outside offset 7's...a low nose then becomes out of the picture. Check the pic on Evren's site of he and Ruki's ride. A good pic there showing the front ride height of my car. Go too low with 7's, and you hook a fender lip when you corner hard...even with 23-28 Torsion bars, 19mm sway, f&r...

YTNUKLR, I recently bought a pair of deep 6's for the car as well as a pair of 15x5.5". I too prefer the correct wheel but the car has brand new Toyo Proxies so the 16" wheels will have to stay. My real goal is to find a set of 15x6 and 15x7 American Racing magnesium "D" spokes like they used in the 67-69 small bore Trans Am series. You can't go wrong with those choices, plus I think 16" offers the most choices of tires. Good luck lowering it. :cool:

What size tires are you using? The original 185/70? BTW, the car is gorgeous.

1" is good , but the handling just 'goes away' if you are to low.

I would like to find a set of those American racing wheels too. They look really right to me. Any pics of a car that has a set?

There is a Trans-Am series photo-history book out that shows many early 911s with the American wheels being raced. I saw it at my local Borders booksellers.

Though I love the fuchs, I think it would be awesome and pretty unique w/ vintage American Racing Mags. I wonder if there's a car in the Rgruppe wearing a set of these?
