Reverting back a mid-80's conversion on a '69
Hi!
I am sure this has been covered before but I have not found a link. I am looking at buying a 1969 911T has been converted somewhere in the 1980's with a more modern look (with parts from a 1984 or so model) I am curious about the front end. I understand that the bumper/hood/fenders are different but what about the front latch support panel? Would that have been cut and welded too? My guess is yes but I would like to confirm. The seller has not been able to send me pictures of that area yet. Thank you. Christian |

Yes, the front panel needs to be replaced to return it to original.
Search for ultimate back date thread or look at my build 71t hot rod build Rob |

I wouldn't be too concerned about the front panel. A non converted 69 would likely need that area replaced due to rust anyway. Just budget to repair the panel
If it turns out that it doesn't need it when it arrives, you got off lucky
