Intermittent wiper relay

I'm trying to replace the wiper relay in my 87 carrera...I have the gauges out and see 3 relays behind the temperature gauge , but none appear to be the correct size . Looking behind the clock I see what I think is the wiper motor but can't see a relay in that area. Can anyone give me some guidance?

Slim, when I've needed access to the relay in my '87, I went in through the frunk. A bit of a pain to remove the blower, etc. but not bad.

I do not believe you are going to be able to get to it through the dash. I just replaced the wiper motor on my 88. The intermittent relay is under the wiper motor sitting on the floorpan of the trunk compartment. I'm almost certain you'll need to remove the fresh air blower (fiddly but not too bad if you follow the instructions in the Bentley manual) and you might end up needing to remove or at least loosen the wiper linkage/motor assembly.

Thanks for the advice. I was hoping this would be easy thru the dash but sounds like I need to go thru the frunk and remove the fresh air blower. ( was hoping it would be a 10 minute job)

Helpful tip...once you get all of the hoses, linkage, connector, and screws loose, the blower assembly comes out over the cable that connects the two air distribution (footwell or dash) boxes, and not under it as might seem intuitive. Otherwise not too bad.

I replaced the relay today and wipers work and park like they're supposed to. Getting access by moving the blower, etc wasn't bad - there is a thread here on pelican that gives clear direction. Thanks for the help- the interweb is a beautiful thing ...
