Is there a Pelican-Equivalent for Mazdas?
Hi all:
As someone recently-married, I inherited the duty of maintaining and repairing my wife's Mazda 3 from her father and brother. Since she has kept no service records and has no idea whether the maintenance schedule has been followed (except for oil changes), I'd like to get the usual stuff (filters, probably plugs -- the car has 90K and I'm pretty sure they haven't been changed) done before the snow starts to fly. Now, for Porsches, there's Pelican and Suncoast; for Volvo, there's IPD; is there an equivalent for Mazdas? I'm just looking for good, high-quality parts from a distributor that specializes in the brand. So far, all my Internet searches have turned up cheap and flashy "tuner" companies, as well as all-makes distributors like JC Whitney (which I'd have no problem using, but want to see if there are any make-specific companies out there). Anyone know of anything like this? Thanks!

I daily a mazdaspeed3 (my wife claimed my 328... But the speed3 is a better track car). Parts, not sure. Forums... I found the crowd quite young, rude, and uninformed. I avoid mazda forums like the plague (especially the mazdaspeed forum).
Pelican types are much more civil and informed. Same goes for the 2002 forum i frequent. I think forums for older cars draw in a different type of crowd. The mazda forum was just focused on stance, rims, and cheap power. |

If you want to get OEM parts, I'd just do some googling to find a Mazda dealer that does a lot of internet business with good prices. E.g. I have an old Sentra SE-R and for a million years I would get OEM parts out of either Courtesy Nissan in Dallas or from Greg Vogel. I get parts for my Accord from a site called hondapartsonline.com or something that is, IIRC, just the storefront for a big dealer. Even with shipping, it costs a ton less than riding a mile and a half from my office to the nearest local Honda stoer and buying parts there. I'd practically guarantee that there is more than one such Mazda dealer with an online presence.
