engine trouble after valve adjustment and timing chain

hey pelicans,

did a engine out valve adjustment and installed new timing chains (with a hydraulic chain tensioner upgrade), reinstalled the engine and its not running all that well .. lots of black smoke and the engine is dying after a few seconds ..

what to do? 911 SC engine

I would reexamine the cam timing.

Ismoto,

You could not install new timing chains without disrupting the cam timing setting. The cam setting is so sensitive that a very slight movement of the cam or sprocket could cause irratic engine performance. As previously mentioned, check your cam timing.

As said above, cam timing must be reset.
