Hello from Melbourne, Australia.
Hi Gurus!
I'm a Long time lurker from Melbourne, Australia who's benefited greatly from all the fabulous advice offered here. Thank you! Also, I'm an "anything with a motor guy" - some bikes (Ducati, Norton, Triumph) - some cars (Alfa, Ferrari, various old Mustangs and, of course, my first love, Porsche). I've had a bunch of Porsches, most recently a pristine 1970 911E which I sold last year. My current car is Brutus - she's an Australian delivered, matching numbers, Paint code 936-9-3, 1979 SC with an engine and gearbox rebuild with the usual upgrades, M&K, Heat exchangers, backdated by a previous owner. Best thing is I've added some lightness and she now weighs 1040 wet. I've just taken a sabbatical from being CTO for a number of US multi national tech firms - Massachusetts, Singapore, Tokyo (don't know if I'll ever be able to go back to that life...) and am chilling playing music and... ...I'm about to do an East Coast Aussie road trip where I'll hook up with some trusty old Porsche (Pelicanites, earlyS, Aussie 901) friends, play some blues, reggae and drink some whisky. I thought it prudent that this is the right time to introduce myself. Watch for my road trip post. Here's my car - you don't need to be on FB to look. https://www.facebook.com/sal.fernando/media_set?set=a.10152811016830774.1073741855.64563 0773&type=3 Cheers! Sal |

Hey Sal,
Currently living in Melbourne a few kms north east of the CBD. I was in Metung last weekend for a wedding. Such an amazing place, however, the drive is boring as along the princess except for the last bit along the Tambo river and into town. If you stop in Taralgon you can find good coffee at a place called '3 Little Birds', the wait for food can be long. Seems like we have a few similar interests; I'm an engineer and I like music. This weekend I will attend the Meredith Music Festival. Enjoy your trip. |

Hi Rob!
Thanks for the tips. Im hoping do some old side roads and will document them. Yeah, i was living in Singapore for 8 years and was chief architect EMC Corporation AP/J and took a sabattical a couple of years ago back to Melbourne. Lets catch up sometime to talk cars and guitars! And enjoy the Meredith Music Festival. Cheers, Sal |
