Air flow in the cabin

I recently purchased a pair of these and installed them today.
Nice improvement on the air flow in the cabin.

Do they fit over the original vents? Did you have to drill anything?

I put them in my 86, big improvement in airflow. Installation is to take the screws out of the stock piece and simply replace it with the new piece. No drilling and a 2 min install (most of that was fitting my 250lbs into the wheel well space) Highly recommended

Put a pair in my car a couple of months ago. Easy install other than stuffing my frame into the footwells. I did, however, open the holes a bit to make installation of the screws a bit easier.
Been utilizing them quite a bit. Fresh air over A/C initially and, now, for heat as things are cooling down and the season is just about done.
Great investment!!

With shipping they are almost $100/pair. That's some serious Porsche tax. It sounds like they work great, but that's a lot of money for molded plastic.

R&D, responsive to the community input (see alterations for a particular aftermarket AC) and a small-scale operation...seems an appropriate price to me.

So when it is cold outside and the heater is on, I presume it blows the heat right on you, and not into the floorboard for it to do the heat rises bit. I actually drive my car and I have been out in it when it was 0 degrees Fahrenheit. The heaters work great in the old 911s.

I fabed up a similar idea to direct cool air toward me mainly as a proof of concept since mine is pretty cheesey. I found when the weather turned cool I missed some heat on m feet so I modified mine to have a flap I can open to let air out downward.

are these positioned as to not lose a kneecap in case of an impact?

I too have installed and they are great, I suggested that they make a model in which the air flow vent can be rotated to allow re direction of the flow and they state perhaps in spring..would be a great enhancement to a great product

You could buy just one since you're only in one seat at a time. $39 and driver is more comfortable.

Seems like a great idea and product. A better example of the p-tax is the damn sunvisor mounts for $100.

Your knees will hit the knee pad (or bare metal dash, if pad is not installed). Ask me and the wire and screws in my kneecap.

Seems a bit unnecessary. The 911 heaters are roasty hot. I am never cold in my car. I don't think I'd want that hot air blowing all over my lap.

It is really to help with fresh air in the summer. For folks that removed their Air Conditioning or at the autocross and have the ac off, but want fresh air blowing on their body not their feet.

Agree with Glen, i find it gets a nice bit of cooler air to the body in the summer, though not AC, i still hope to hook central vent to the system to have hot/cold air in foot well defroster and center vent, just have to figure out plumbing

Yep, makes you think they should have named it the “Kool’n Duct” or something.
