Winter??

Well, lots of us northern New Englanders wondering why our 911s are stuck away in storage and inaccessible on a 60 degree sunny day in Maine! Been really outstanding weather and the season could have extended up to 2 months this year. Oh well, that much closer to spring. Just snagged a 97 Mustang Cobra to play with this winter. A completely different machine, but at 305 horse stock - she scoots. Fun

We have had some great days in Eastern Canada, but the department of transportation keeps dropping salt like it is going out of style.

Just how "stuck away" is your car?
Why not take it out for a drive?
I went for a nice 2 hour drive yesterday.

My car was in the shop for a few months until last Thursday. Been driving it like every day is the seasons last! It just keeps not snowing and no salt yet.

Still driving mine every weekend in central-eastern Canada! For the last 4 - 5 Sunday evenings, I park it in the garage assuming that the driving season is over only to take it out again the next Saturday morning with a big grin on my face. This is great!

Same here. I've logged 2500 miles in the past 3 weeks. Wife said don't add miles to our leased car... lol.

I've lived in Michigan and Pennsylvania so I get the snow thing. I'm not a big fan of putting cars away for the Winter though. You can usually drive them once a month and that's a lot better than storing a car.

On the other hand here's a recent article I wrote about Winter storage.

I'm lucky to have space in my garage for my Carrera. It does not go to sleep in the winter. Until the DPW salts the roads, mine gets driven. The only thing I do when it gets colder is avoid short trips where the oil won't come up to temp.

Last Thursday I woke up and decided to take the day off and drive the 911 to the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg museum in Auburn, IN. I never imagined I would be able to drive the car in the middle of December, never mind with the top off! I would have driven it to Detroit this weekend had I not needed to take a bike with me. Since my car gets merely parked rather than stored away somewhere, I can take it out whenever conditions are nice enough.
